Whichever moment
it was, it’s long gone now–

the point when you said
It’s time for change…

but it’s okay.
Field of wildflowers,

chiseled stomach
of a mountain basking

on sunlight.
It’s night now

with black lips
and studded eyes,

reality of ancient
tents we’re all hiding

beneath. It isn’t fair,
being reminded

after every day,
how much

has passed over

our heads,
how much time

and understanding,
