Bones

In the past I met you,
but forgot your name,
your brass eyes,

keep you to feed a flame…
Couldn’t get away
in the night, under flickering

specks–There’s comfort
in velvety unknown
laced between us,

unexplained. Silos line
plains where we consume
anything to keep us going

toward sky high specters,
watch for the moment
where we wake up

in a different color,
brighter shine
without spoken word

or lost remedy,
a different choice
taken from long ago.
