Cemetery Drive (With Rule*)

Once drawn to ones hidden behind
burning shrubs, now gulping vinegar
like memories of —there’s no cure

except to leave alone. Take a ride until
sunset caves behind a scraggly horizon
line, darkness looming against impassible

blackness. Searching along, where ever
going won’t heal tendons blistered,
eyes drifting like ghosts floating along

Cemetery Drive every night. visions
of : skeletons without motivation
sinking into a cold mountain stream

 where blond reeds hide  intentions,
only tangling as  grow into story–
Wind keeps blowing along the front range

listen for the signal singing, Come back
with dreams,
too terrified to let love
go, how long will it haunt these fields?
